They beat Thacher School on Friday, April 1st in Ojai 16-2. “Senior Joe Eisagurre and freshman Ryan Layton combined to throw a no-hitter, while striking out 15 Toad hitters and walking seven in a six inning contest that was shortened due to the 10-run mercy rule,” wrote coach Dorlarque in his recap of the game. The captains this year are Connor McMorrow, Joe Eisagurre and Corbin Meyer. McMorrow leads the team behind the plate as the primary catcher, Eisagurre is one of the starting pitchers, and Meyer plays multiple positions. Their win against Thacher raised the team’s spirits after losing to North County Christian in the prior game. The team looks forward to playing Thacher again this coming Saturday, April 16th at 2:00pm. McMorrow explained, “It is obvious who worked out over break and who didn’t. But I am not worried, I don’t think the break effected us,” when asked if the weeklong break had any negative effect on the team. The team expects to perform well on Saturday and hopes to come out on top once more.
