The Earwigs ventured five hours south to play St. Michael's Prep in the second round of CIF-SS playoffs on Tuesday. After getting off to a slow start, the Earwigs erupted for 6 runs in the fourth inning on three hits and capitalized on four St. Michael's errors. The team tacked on insurance runs in the fifth and sixth innings. The Earwigs had 13 hits, including three by Jake Eisaguirre and two by Connor McMorrow, Joe Eisaguirre, Cody Boal and Dominic Lawrence. Freshman Ryan Layton recorded the victory, running his win-loss record to 5-0. Ryan came in with the bases loaded and no outs in the bottom of the third with the score 2-3 and worked out of the jam without giving up a run. The team now plays Hillcrest Christian on Friday in Granada Hills at 3:15pm. If you would like to attend the game, it will be played at Master's College, 21726 Placerita Canyon Rd, Newhall, CA 91321
